Little Learners Nursery
We have a Nursery Holiday Bear. He goes on Holiday with the children whenever they go way. They take pictures and we put them in his book 'Holiday Bears Travels'. He has been to many places including Mexico, South Africa, Lanzarote, Spain and Turkey. He is well travelled!!
He went to London with Mrs Blane and her Son and ended up with a Second Book, Holiday Bear in London. He saw all the sights and got many pictures.
Recently he went to the Isle of Man. Unfortunately he didnt come home (he obviously loved it so much he decided to stay).
Mrs Blane put a plea on our Facebook page and it all went mad. Over 1,400 people shared the picture, a IOM Radio Station called Mrs Blane for an interview, local and IOM newspapers ran the story, People are sending postcards to us from holiday bear. One Lady sent us a MANX Cat (now our weekend Bear). The Mayor of Douglas sent us 'Ramsey the Ram' Bear and a lovely letter telling us that her road cleaning operatives have been looking for him. Holiday became famous in the Isle of Man in less than 24 hours.
A Lady and her Daughter from Kirkby found a very similar Bear at the side of the road, they washed him and looked after him and donated him to Nursery. He is now our Holiday Bear. Holiday Bears Brother, Charley (named after the young girl who gave him to us). Along with a 'back up' Charley found on the internet by one of our Mums.
Losing a Teddy can happen to us all, this lost bear has become quite famous and has ended up being such a lovely story.
So Little Learners Nursery would like to thank everyone involved, especially the people of the Isle of Man for their kindness and generosity.
We are very lucky to have our very own Forest School on site!
Including a log cabin, sectioned off pond with regular Ducks coming to visit, story telling chair etc.
Great messy fun. Learning real dangers (nettles etc), that children are likely to come across in the local area, giving them the knowledge they 'need' to stay safe, locally and further afield.
